In 2004 Nick Baker was commissioned to establish the parameters for refurbishing the existing 2400sqm British Embassy and attaching a new 900sqm Visa Section to the lower floors of this centrally located multi storey Bogota building.
The study provided a plan and programme for phasing staff and departmental refurbishments within the tight security and surveillance requirements imposed by the Foreign Office. This included the maintenance of key Embassy functions during the refurbishment works.
As typical with overseas projects care was taken to understand local trade skills and climate. Local materials were addressed for their suitability to the clients brief of upgrading the image of Britain abroad
